Charitable Giving Initiative

+
What is the IgCares charitable giving initiative?
The IgCares program includes a charitable giving initiative designed to donate funds in support of research and the primary immunodeficiency (PI) community. It is built around you and your activities. Once you enroll in the program, every time you participate in activities with points such as downloading the IgCares app, tracking and logging your treatments and health, recycling responsibly, consuming educational content, or refilling your cutaquig prescription — you’ll earn donation points to be contributed to the participating charity you choose. Every point you earn is a dollar we will donate. You’ll help others simply by actively managing your own therapy.
+
Which charities are supported?
The charities that IgCares benefits are non-profits that support PI patients and the broader PI community. They include:
  • The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF)
  • The Jeffrey Model Foundation (JMF)
  • Foundation for Primary Immunodeficiency (FPID)
  • International Patient Organisation for Primary Immunodeficiencies (IPOPI)
Learn more about these charities on our Charitable Giving page.
+
What are donation points?
Donation points are points you collect for participating in IgCares activities labeled with the donation point icon. While the points do not have cash value themselves, they represent the money we will donate to the participating PI charity you select. Every point you earn is a dollar we will donate.
+
Do donation points expire?
Yes. All donation points must be donated by IgCares program members during the current 12-month calendar period. Donation points collected but not donated by a member during that 12-month calendar period will expire and no longer be valid for donation.
+
How much are donation points worth?
Points have no cash value to IgCares program members and cannot be redeemed for any purpose other than donation through the IgCares charitable giving initiative. One donation point = one dollar ($1.00).
+
Is my donation tax deductible?

What is a National Drug Code and where do I find it?
A National Drug Code (NDC) is a unique 10 or 11-digit, 3-segment number. It is a universal product identifier for human drugs in the United States. Find it on the package your prescription came in, or on the cutaquig vial.

Recycling Program

+
What is the IgCares recycling program
IgCares’ responsible recycling program ensures you can dispose of your sharps and infusion materials not just safely, but with positive environmental impact — all the material you recycle through the program is converted into real energy! It is complimentary for eligible IgCares program members.
+
How does it work?
When you enroll in the IgCares recycling program you will be mailed:

1. A custom sharps container to safely dispose of your needles and other biohazardous materials
2. An additional box to dispose of the cooler your prescripton ships in, as well as all the other packaging from your supplies

Detailed recycling instructions will also be included. Once you have completed your infusion, place your used needles, glass vials and biohazardous materials in your sharps disposal container. Your sharps container can be kept until it is full. All other infusion supplies can be put into your cooler. Keep your cooler and cooler ship-back box until you’ve completed a month of infusions. Package everything according to the instructions provided in the original recycling package you received. We’ll take it from there! Learn more on our Recycling page.
+
What is responsible recycling?
Responsible recycling is environmentally friendly. It means that you dispose of your sharps and other infusion supplies with care and caution, keeping other people safe and keeping potentially dangerous materials out of landfills.
+
What can I recycle?
Everything that ships with your prescription! You can recycle all of your used infusion needles, additional infusion materials, and all of the packaging and shipping materials associated with your prescription.

Taking cutaquig®

+
What is cutaquig?
Cutaquig is an FDA-approved subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) replacement therapy for patients 2 years of age or older. It is used by patients with primary immunodeficiency (PI) disease to provide antibodies that their body either does not produce, or does not produce in adequate quantity, to help stay protected from infection and illness.1 To learn more about PI and SCIg, go to our Patient Education page.
+
How is it administered?
Cutaquig is infused into the body with under-the-skin (subcutaneous) injections.
+
How do I get it?
Cutaquig is available only by prescription from a healthcare provider. The prescriptions are filled by specialty pharmacies, which are equipped to handle the special requirements of a biologic medication. To learn more about how your prescription gets from the doctor to your door, visit your My IgCares Patient Education page.
+
What is a specialty pharmacy?
Specialty pharmacies are distinct from traditional pharmacies. They are designed to handle high cost, high touch medication therapy for patients with complex disease states, such as PI. Medications filled by specialty pharmacies range from oral to injectable and biologic products, such as cutaquig, which require special handling, storage, and distribution. Specialty pharmacies also differ from traditional pharmacies in often coordinating many aspects of patient care and disease management. Their goal is to improve clinical and economic outcomes for patients with complex, often chronic and rare conditions, with close contact and management by clinicians.
+
Who is Octapharma?
Octapharma is a pharmaceutical (drug) company with a long history of commitment to patients requiring immunoglobulin. Since its founding in 1983, Octapharma has established a portfolio of immunotherapy products, including both intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) and subcutaneous immunoglobulin (SCIg) therapies. The company’s extensive experience with immunodeficiency has given it deep insight into, and profound empathy for, patients dealing with the realities of PI disease and its treatment.
